Dear Friends
Our beloved church has long been the heart of fellowship in the Whitney community in Spartanburg, SC. Yet, we find ourselves facing significant challenges that demand our immediate attention. The deterioration of our parking lot and roof, along with outdated facilities, hinder our ability to fully live out our mission and welcome all who seek solace and sanctuary within our walls.
Filling in Potholes
Potholes pose a significant safety hazard and can damage vehicles. By filling in potholes, we'll create a smoother surface, reducing the risk of accidents and vehicle damage.
Blacktopping
Applying a fresh layer of blacktop will rejuvenate our parking lot's surface, enhancing its appearance and durability. This will also provide a more comfortable driving and walking experience for everyone using the parking lot.
Striping
Proper striping is essential for organized parking and traffic flow. By restriping our parking lot, we'll delineate parking spaces clearly and efficiently, maximizing the use of available space.
Accessibility Upgrades:
In addition to cosmetic improvements, we're committed to enhancing accessibility for all members of our community. This includes ensuring designated accessible parking spaces and pathways are properly marked and maintained.
Cleaning Off Debris
Removing debris from the roof surface is essential to prevent blockages in drainage systems and reduce the risk of water pooling. Regular cleaning will help maintain the roof's integrity and prevent damage.
Repairing Any Panels:
Inspecting the roof for any damaged or deteriorated panels is crucial. Repairing or replacing these panels will prevent water infiltration and ensure the structural integrity of the roof.
Recalking
Properly sealing joints, seams, and penetrations on the roof is essential to prevent water intrusion. Recalking these areas will help maintain a watertight seal and prevent leaks.
Applying Elastomeric Coating
Applying an elastomeric coating to the roof surface provides an additional layer of protection against water damage, UV rays, and weathering. This flexible coating can expand and contract with the roof, reducing the risk of cracks and leaks.
Repairing Ceiling Tiles
Roof leaks often manifest as stains or damage to ceiling tiles, detracting from the overall appearance of our sanctuary. Repairing or replacing damaged ceiling tiles not only improves aesthetics but also addresses potential safety concerns associated with compromised structural elements.
Replacing Damaged Carpet:
Water infiltration from roof leaks is causing damage to carpeting, leading to stains. By replacing damaged carpeting, we are ensuring a clean and hygienic environment for congregational gatherings and events.
Replacing Damaged Furniture
Over time, furniture in our church have become worn or damaged. By replacing damaged furniture, we can create a more inviting and comfortable seating area for our congregation, ensuring everyone feels welcomed and supported during services and events.
